ARTISTIC SYMPOSIUM in BOSA
„In the Echo of the Other“, Artistic Symposium in Bosa 2024
Calendar: 19.8.2024 – 25.8.2024
The title of our artists‘ meeting reminds us that we act and react, that we communicate and listen in our own language of art, that we perceive this „other“ country Italy/Sardinia from our perspective, that we perceive the „other“ inhabitants of the island and confront ourselves with their culture and that – last but not least – we meet collectively as a group of artists. Yet the echo is never the same as the call.
„All real life is encounter“ is a central thesis of the philosopher Martin Buber, which we understand as a request for real encounters in a shared space. Being able to look into each other’s eyes, touch each other, feel the unsaid: these are qualities that no means of communication can replace.
That’s why we want to meet in Bosa, work together and side by side, share space, breathe the same air, experience heat and shade together, be inspired by commonality, the unknown and the surprising in another country – with the aim of creating new works of art. In these times of war, open and real meetings are important for us as a basis for understanding our counterparts, from which the willingness to compromise can arise as a basis for peace.
